The opening show of The North Palmyra Trophies tournament also featured a tennis wedding of Anastasia Potapova and Alexander Shevchenko. Today, they officially formalized their relationship at the registry office in Saint Petersburg.

At the request of the hosts, Anastasia and Alexander pledged eternal love to each other and to tennis, promising to be faithful partners. The bride and groom, dressed in elegant gowns, also shared a kiss while the stands roared with traditional “Gorko!”

And another wedding tradition was honored as well: tennis balls from the bride's bouquet were thrown to the stands as souvenirs.

Tomorrow, Anastasia and Alexander are scheduled to play in mixed doubles for the "Lions" against Yulia Putintseva and Roberto Bautista Agut.
