The Russia's strongest junior emerged victorious in the tournament, defeating 16-year-old Egor Pleshivtsev in the final 6/7 (7-9), 6/3, 10-5.
Demin was the clear favorite in this match and had a strong start. He immediately secured a break and, despite facing difficulties in his serve in the third game, led 3-0.
Pleshivtsev did not lose composure against his older and more esteemed opponent, managing to catch up soon. The tennis players reached a tie-break, where Pleshivtsev took the lead twice, but Demin fought back both times. Egor earned a set point at 6-6 with an impressive smash, but he couldn't take advantage of it. Demin, sending the ball out, gave another set point, and in the next rally, Pleshivtsev surpassed his opponent in a prolonged exchange of shots, securing the set.
Riding the momentum of the first set, Egor easily took the first game of the second set. Yaroslav, however, started to rally up and express frustration to himself and judges. It worked: taking advantage of a momentary loss of concentration by his opponent, he won a game on the return where Pleshivtsev led 40-15, taking a 2-1 lead.
The young players continued the match in a bombardier style, exchanging powerful shots from the baseline. At 3-5, after making several consecutive errors, Pleshivtsev conceded another game, losing the second set along with it.
The fate of the final was decided in the tie-break. Egor made mistakes again and let his opponent take a 5-0 lead. Now, Demin was unstoppable – in a meteoric style, he brought the match to victory.
