Victoria Tomova brings the "Lions" the final victory and confesses her love for Saint-Petersburg
The tennis player from the team led by Svetlana Kuznetsova and Janko Tipsarevic defeated Diana Schnaider 6/3, 6/0, securing the ‘Lions’ the sixth point, which became decisive.

Victoria Tomova played her first match at the North Palmyra Trophies tournament on Friday and lost to Yulia Putintseva. Diana Schnaider from the ‘Sphinxes’ on the other hand, had battled with Vera Zvonareva for over two hours the day before and seemed to have expended all her energy in that match.

Taking the court after Karen Khachanov had finalized the score at 5-3 in favor of the ‘Lions’ the Bulgarian player practically danced around the court. She broke her opponent's serve seven (!) times and, despite losing two of her own, confidently secured victory in just 61 minutes.

«I was very upset about the defeat on the first day, and I'm happy that I could win today and contribute to the overall team victory», she said. «I am very surprised by the support of the audience and the fact that some children even shouted my name. I love you, St. Petersburg!»
