From November 29 to December 1, 2024, the third International Team Tournament “North Palmyra Trophies” will be held on the courts of KSC “Arena”. The event is organized by Formula TX, the organizer of the international tournaments ATP St. Petersburg Open and WTA St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy.
Two teams will meet on the court: Team Lions and Team Sphinxes. Each of them will consist of five players (ATP and WTA) and a playing captain - a world tennis legend. The participants of the teams are Russian and world tennis stars, who are in the TOP 20-100 of the world ranking.
The Lions team of Karen Khachanov, Alexander Bublik, Alexander Shevchenko, Anastasia Potapova, Vera Zvonareva and Victoria Tomova won the International Exhibition Team Tournament “North Palmyra Trophies 2023”.
This year the organizers expect athletes from Russia, Australia, Spain, Serbia, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands and Bulgaria. The tournament will be held in a new format: the match will be limited in time and consist of three sets. The final score will be based on the number of games won by the players - both in singles and doubles. The team with the highest number of games will win.
The line-up of participants will be announced soon.
The tournament starts on Friday, November 29, at 18:00, with a match between legends of Russian and world tennis. The official presentation of the teams and the start of the tournament is at 19:00. The audience will be able to see two matches on this day.
Five matches will be played on Saturday, November 30, beginning at 12:00.
On Sunday, December 1, starting at 12:00, four matches will be played. At the end of the matches, an award ceremony will be held.
A rich program awaits spectators: in the foyer of the “Arena,” they can participate in autograph sessions, open press conferences, and master classes with tennis stars.
