The Serbian tennis player Dusan Lajovic, who finished this season ranked 82nd in the ATP singles ranking, will play at the international team tennis tournament North Palmyra Trophies again.
Last year, Lajovic played for the ‘Sphinxes’ team and lost in a tough match to the Russian Karen Khachanov from the ‘Lions’ – 6:4, 5:7, 7–10. Before this, the athlete had come to the Northern capital several times to play at St. Petersburg Open, his best result being the quarterfinals of 2011.
During his professional career, Dusan has won two singles titles (Umag 2019 and Banja Luka 2023) and two doubles titles (Istanbul 2015, Chengdu 2019). He has been playing for the Serbian national team since 2012. Lajovic emphasizes the importance of team competitions, noting that the 2013 Davis Cup was “a turning point in his career”. He is also proud of the 2020 ATP Cup trophy, when the Serbian team rallied to beat Spain 2–1 in the final.
